WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: All Chapter Members, Business Partners and family members (children must be 10 and older).

Your hearts and hands will help NTFB feed our neighbors in need. There are 10 spots reserved for our group and to help with volunteer sign up, NTFB has created a special page with the shift details. Attire: Closed-toe shoes are required (no sandals or flip flops). We recommend dressing in comfortable and casual clothes suitable for the season. Items that are not appropriate include revealing clothing or dangling accessories.

Commitment: Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and orientation will start promptly at 9 a.m. We suggest arriving a few minutes prior to your shift to find parking and to check in on the kiosk. Thank you for being on time as we follow an agenda to be as productive as possible. Running late? Check in with the front desk and wait for further instructions. If you need to reschedule, please cancel your registration in a timely manner so we may offer the slots to other volunteers.

Donations: Your monetary gift is TRIPLED when you volunteer. Ask the volunteer coordinator for more info!

Safety: We invite volunteers into our facility to help fight hunger and it is important that we maintain a safe environment. Volunteers are expected to comply with all rules, follow the directions given by station leaders, and immediately report any accidents to a staff member. Are you a chaperone? We ask that you supervise your charges, know their location at all times, and stop any unsafe behavior. Thank you for helping us make safety a top priority!

Accommodation Needs: This opportunity includes standing, bending, and lifting. Please let us know if you have accommodation needs.

Parking: Carpooling is highly recommended. Thank you for not parking in a reserved spot or in the lot of our neighbors. Please let us know if your group is arriving on a bus.

Tracking Hours: Any volunteer (youth or adult) needing to track hours for employer matches, school, scholarships, scouts, etc. must create their own account, sign up, and check in for every shift. If you are not in our system, we cannot verify hours. In addition to tracking hours in our online system, you may ask the receptionist for a North Texas Food Bank Hour Verification Form after the shift. Our policy is to not sign any court-appointed service documents including time sheets.

Lunch/Snacks: During lunch, please enjoy the restaurants in the area due to limited meeting space at our facility. Bringing snacks and drinks? Thank you for labeling your items with your group name and keeping them in the orientation room. Vending machines are on-site.

Lobby Hours: Normal lobby hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Shift Closure: If a shift is closed due to inclement weather, a cancellation email will be sent to all volunteers who signed up by 8:00 a.m.
