About Us
In 1971, the Association of Legal Administrators (“ALA”) was established to support professionals managing law firms, corporate legal departments, and government legal agencies. Since its inception, ALA has focused on providing these professionals with essential resources through education, networking opportunities, and a collaborative community where they can tackle challenges and foster innovation. Dallas ALA, our membership and our Business Partners are diverse and multicultural, and we are focused on positioning itself to foster understanding, acceptance and inclusiveness of all individuals. The unique backgrounds and perspectives we all bring are valued contributions toward Dallas ALA’s common goals of providing personal and professional growth as well as educational and networking opportunities for legal management professionals within the greater Dallas community.
Our membership is the greatest asset of Dallas ALA. The outstanding people within Dallas ALA are the greatest source of our strength and value as a professional association. We recognize that promoting diversity is an integral component of our continuing quest for excellence as a chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (“ALA”). We are committed to promoting a culture that is welcoming and inclusive of all people and to recognizing that individual differences strengthen Dallas ALA’s membership and encourage the level of representation to be reflective of our community. Our challenge is to effectively utilize our diversity in ways that raise to new levels novel and richer perspectives and experiences to be shared and highlighted among our membership.
As part of advancing our commitment to diversity within Dallas ALA, the following initiatives, among others, are being pursued:
- Cultivate equitable opportunities for roles in leadership and committee involvement as well as occasions to showcase and share knowledge, experiences and perspectives among our members.
- Recognize contributions made by Dallas ALA members to advance our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Foster networking and interaction among the Dallas ALA’s membership and our Business Partners to enrich the experiences of our legal management professionals.
- Engage in opportunities outside of Dallas ALA to explore diversity and inclusion initiatives underway with our member firms, bar associations, and underrepresented minority organizations that share this common objective.
- Develop new membership mentoring programs within Dallas ALA.
- Support a culture within Dallas ALA that engages, enables, and empowers its membership to persistently do their best work.
- Offer regular and repeated meaningful diversity and inclusion training, updates and round table discussions for our membership.
